Can men and women just be "friends"?

According to women, yeah, they can, but for the guys, we might have feelings for them, they just don't know it and we're just not telling. We would rather be friends with them, then to not have them in our lives, at least we can check out the other guys she's dating and learn from them, what not to do, and since you're always her best non judgemental friend, she tells you everything. There is a girl here, I won't mention names, but you know who you are and you know what I am talking about.
