Do you agree with this quote, and how do you interpret it?

I don't know that I agree with Wilde as per the first phrase, but I do agree with the latter part of it. Too much honesty or sincerity borders on being insensitive or harsh. There are some things we do not say to someone because we choose to spare that person's feelings. Sincerity and honesty need to be tempered with kindness and compassion.
