Does homosexuality aid evolution?

there are no real scientific certainties with this however there are a lot of theories. the most notable is the gay uncle hypothesis. this is the idea that gay members would ease the tension within the group back in the days of our tribal dwelling ancestors because they were not competing with other members of the same gender to mate with the opposite gender. however they were still useful in hunting and providing for the group. therefore were beneficial to the welfare of the tribe without creating tension or conflict within the tribe.
